Holiday in Miami

Miami adds a Latin twist to this glamorous Florida destination, and there is so much more to do than relax on the beaches all day but you’d be forgiven for not wanting to do anything other than this! South Beach is the trendiest spot to be seen in and is also home to the Miami Beach Architectural District with plenty of stunning art-deco buildings to be found around every corner. Down in Key Biscayne is the Bill Baggs Florida State Beach for a quieter stretch of beach and Hobie Beach is perfect for windsurfing and trying your hand at watersports. For a little more culture, head north. Miami North Beach is where you can find an ancient Spanish monastery that has been dismantled, shipped and rebuilt so you can discover this beautiful building and lush gardens. The Bay of Pigs Museum allows a glimpse into Miami’s recent history in the Cold War with memorabilia and artefacts for a fascinating insight. You can also walk around a Florida Lighthouse.

There is a buzzing art scene to discover in the Miami Design District, Miami Art Museum and plenty of street artists to discover whilst strolling around town and nature’s art can be seen in the beautiful Miami botanical gardens. To indulge in retail therapy, Lincoln road boutiques, Dolphin Mall, The Falls in Miami-Dade and CocoWalk in Coconut Grove are perfect. Finally, Miami has delicious Cuban cuisine that is best in Little Havana and the USA stone crab is a must-eat.

Fontainebleau

Quite simply one of the most historically and architecturally significant hotels on Miami Beach, this neo-baroque icon epitomises what it’s all about - golden-era glamour and glitz with modern-day extravagance and luxury. Elvis, Frank Sinatra and The Rat Pack were regulars and it’s also featured in blockbuster films like Goldfinger and Scarface. This laidback yet palatial hotel has pride of place on the north end of South Beach and is renowned for multiple-award-winning hospitality.

It sits atop 22 acres of oceanfront gardens, fringed with palm trees and features an opulent freeform pool as the centrepiece. LIV is the on-site exclusive nightclub and dining here is an indulgent affair with Hakkasan serving award-winning Cantonese cuisine and AAA Four Diamond award-winner Scarpetta offering exceptional Italian fare.
