The best of the city's nightlife can be experienced on the neon-lit Granville Street with bars, restaurants and clubs this place comes alive when the sun goes down.
The National Historic Site of Gastown is the oldest part of the city that began as a single tavern owned by 'Gassy' Jack Deighton and is now one of the most stylish neighbourhoods with many boutiques, galleries and independent eateries but make sure you visit the steam clock and the Gassy Jack statue in Maple Tree Square.
For retail therapy, the West End is the place to be, but English Bay Beach is one of the most popular places come sunset. Keep walking to Stanley Park for miles of trails through the park, past First Nations artworks and many family attractions. You can also take a boat ride to Granville Island with the Public Market here being a real pull for foodies for exceptional local dishes to sample as well as theatres, art galleries and souvenir shops.
For the great outdoors, Grouse Mountain is the place to visit which is accessible via the Skyride gondola or the 1.8-mile hike Grouse Grind trail, but the views from the top are absolutely worth it. Those who can stomach the heights should also head for Capilano Suspension Bridge Park for stunning sights. Back on the ground, this city is relatively flat making it perfect for strolling around or hiring a bike to discover the parks and beaches.Book now
