Holiday in Miami

A melting pot of culture with incredibly diverse food, art and entertainment. South Beach is home to some of the trendiest spots but is also home to the Miami Beach Architectural District where beautiful art-deco buildings can be found. Head to Key Biscayne for the Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Beach for a quiet scenic stretch of beach or Hobie beach for windsurfing and watersports to make the most of the waves. Miami North Beach allows a glimpse inside a genuine, ancient Spanish monastery that has been dismantled, shipped over and rebuilt so you can discover this beautiful building and verdant gardens. The Bay of Pigs Museum is a must-visit for anyone interested in finding out about the Cold War with memorabilia and artefacts, it provides a fascinating insight into the region’s recent history. You can also take a walk around the Cape Florida Lighthouse.

The city has a buzzing art scene full of eccentricity and freedom and you can fully appreciate this in the Miami Design District, Miami Art Museum and many street artists that can be seen throughout the city. For nature’s art, the Miami botanical gardens and Lincoln road boutiques are well worth a visit. For a little retail therapy, Miami has many shopping streets and malls that are also full of entertainment. We recommend Dolphin Mall, The Falls in Miami-Dade, CocoWalk in Coconut Grove and Lincoln Road on Miami Beach. Finally, Miami has excellent Cuban cuisine on offer in Little Havana but Miami is also famed for succulent seafood such as USA stone crab.

The Betsy South Beach

This is a rare colonial-style classic located at the quiet northern end of Ocean Drive in the heart of the Art Deco District. The 62 rooms and suites are beautifully crafted by a former Ralph Lauren interior designer and it’s big on contemporary art, modern attitude and charitable spirit. Plantation shutters and crisp white interiors are subtly lined with jewel-like tones to add style and grace.

The high-ceilinged Grand Suites are stunning and overlook the ocean, while the gorgeous rooftop perch is a hive of activity with spa services, a beautiful garden, inviting pool and seascapes across to Lummus Park. The culturally stimulating Betsy also hosts regular jazz evenings, literary events and writer’s retreat programmes.
