Holiday in Peru

Peru has so much to explore and see with enchanting Incan ruins and jaw-dropping landscapes around every corner. Home to the highest lake in the world, Lake Titicaca where you can take a boat ride, hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, or for an easier ride jump on board the Belmond Hiram Bingham train to visit this 'City in the Sky' before you explore and immerse yourself in the ruins. The streets of Cuzco and Ollantaytambo offer a glimpse into local life in Peru and South America or you can dine in gourmet restaurants in Lima, one of the best places in the world to indulge in the best cuisine where you can try their local delicacy of guinea pig for an authentic taste of Peru.

This corner of the world can be combined with other fantastic destinations such as Brazil, Argentina and the Galapagos Islands for a truly unforgettable trip.

Belmond Sanctuary Lodge

This exclusive nook of luxury is on the very doorstep of Machu Picchu and is the only hotel granted permission to be within the realms of the monument. The lodge-style hotel is deliberately unobtrusive with stylish and understated features, Inca-inspired design elements and pre-Columbian motifs sitting within a leafy bower surrounded by an orchid garden.

The small scale lodge has 32 compact bedrooms available, decked out in appealing traditional fabrics accented by sleek wood and hide furnishings. The marble bathrooms come with a shower and the deluxe rooms have mountain views with private terraces.

An amazing treat in this lofty bolthole is an alfresco massage gazing out at the lush green peaks. Dine on the best of authentic Peruvian fare in the Tampa restaurant or sample the local tipple, Pisco, a grape-based brandy, in the bar.
